Professional?

There's something that's been bugging me about these little hipster images dictating what "professional" photography is. Actually, it doesn't just bug me, it frustrates me. Who are these elitist's that decide what looks awesome and what doesn't? As a photographer you create and capture what your imagination tells you to. You edit in your own creative way. Or maybe you don't edit at all! Who has the power to say that what you're doing isn't worth showing? Isn't worth sharing? These images are spiteful, and negative. It sends a horrible message out to anyone even trying to make their way anywhere. "Just because you own a DSLR doesn't make you a professional?" Are you feeling insecure? This is hateful.
I consider myself to be incredibly humble, I can appreciate all forms of art. What makes you think what's hip now, will be hip forever? There is SO MUCH stigma around photography and it's really discouraging. I want to reach out to every aspiring photographer, and all the creative minds, and just reassure you, there isn't a requirement. This is about you, your passion and following a dream.
What about film? What about polaroids? There are so many awesome images on instagram!

No one can define you, or how you see yourself, and in the end, haters gonna hate.
