There's an ache in me
a tender yearning
that only you can soothe.
its in your unkempt nature
and wizened grooves
in those lush sweeps
and rugged peaks
you are restless
and steady
your center thrums with life
and I know I'm ready
my fingertips brush
copses and bark
legs prickle
so unseemly and stark
until I ascend
your sprawling summit
and immerse myself
in the sweet surrender
only then will peace and wholeness
overcome me,
there is no comparable splendor.
